The treatment paradigm involves a cohesive multidisciplinary approach that allows treatment plans to be made in the context of a patient' overall condition. Opinions vary widely as to the role of surgery, from none to wide margin excision. The treatment should be taylor made for the individual. The primary aim of any treatment is the improvement of the quality of life by treatment of pain and avoidance of new neurological deficits. In individual cases a long lasting tumor control can be achieved.
