Aberrant T-cell antigen expression in B-lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL) is linked to adverse cytogenetics and increased relapse risk. This finding suggests T-cell antigen positivity may predict poor prognosis in B-ALL patients.

- 18 cases (13.4%) of TAg+ B-ALL were identified.
- TAg+ B-ALL cases showed a significantly higher rate of adverse cytogenetic abnormalities (72.2% vs 32.2%).
- TAg+ B-ALL was associated with an increased risk of relapse (HR=2.256, P=0.065), independent of other risk factors.
Conclusions:
- T-cell antigen expression in B-ALL is a potential independent predictor of poor prognosis.
- TAg+ B-ALL serves as a marker for identifying patients at higher risk for relapse and adverse cytogenetic abnormalities.
- Further investigation into the biological mechanisms underlying TAg+ B-ALL is warranted.
