DNA polymorphisms and tissue cyclooxygenase-2 expression in oral lichen planus: a case-control study

This study found no significant association between the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) 765G>C gene polymorphism and oral lichen planus (OLP). Increased prostaglandin E2 levels in OLP patients suggest inflammation, but the specific gene variation does not appear to be a risk factor.
