Severe neonatal acidosis in term newborns is linked to several risk factors. These include advanced maternal age, previous C-section, general anesthesia, thick meconium, uterine rupture, and abnormal fetal heart rate.

Conclusions:
- Maternal age 35+, prior C-section, prior neonatal death, general anesthesia, thick meconium, uterine rupture, and abnormal fetal heart rate are significant independent risk factors for severe neonatal acidosis.
- These findings can inform risk assessment and management strategies for term pregnancies.
