Summary

CT-guided adrenal gland biopsy using a paravertebral approach with hydrodissection is accurate and safe. This technique yielded sufficient material for pathological analysis in all cases, with no reported complications.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To describe and evaluate a CT-guided percutaneous paravertebral approach for adrenal gland biopsy.
  • To assess the accuracy, safety, and efficacy of this technique using hydrodissection.

Main Methods:

  • A CT-guided percutaneous paravertebral approach with hydrodissection was used for adrenal gland biopsy.
  • 13 biopsies were performed between April 2009 and July 2010.
  • Saline injection was utilized to expand the posterior paravertebral space.

  • All 13 biopsies yielded sufficient material for pathological analysis.
