Summary

Radical surgery is the only effective treatment for retroperitoneal sarcoma, a rare cancer where local recurrence is the primary cause of death. This case highlights successful complete tumor excision, leading to a disease-free outcome.

  • Histological examination confirmed an intermediate-grade spindle-cell sarcoma.

Implications:

  • Complete surgical resection remains the sole curative option for retroperitoneal sarcomas.
  • Successful radical surgery can lead to long-term disease-free survival, as demonstrated in this case.
  • This case underscores the importance of surgical expertise in managing complex retroperitoneal masses.
