Compulsivity predicts fronto striatal activation in severely anorectic individuals

Compulsivity in anorexia nervosa (AN) patients is linked to distinct brain activity. Severely ill individuals showed unique regional brain activations, particularly in response to high-calorie food cues, suggesting a neurological basis for AN compulsivity.

- These findings suggest a potential neurobiological link between compulsivity and brain function in anorexia nervosa.
