Abstract:
It is now recognised that 'eating for two' during pregnancy is not a sound practice. However, what should a pregnant woman eat? This article reviews firstly the available literature on the food intake of healthy women producing a healthy baby, and secondly the literature on the calculation of needs from what is known of the physiological demands of pregnancy.
