- Evaluated microvascular function using laser Doppler perfusion imaging and macrovascular function via flow-mediated brachial artery dilatation.

- Elevated levels of von Willebrand factor (vWF) and circulating endothelial cells (CECs) were observed in early arthritis patients (P < 0.05).
- These elevations were independent of classical inflammation markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and IL-6.
- No significant differences were found in other assessed biomarkers.
- Microvascular and macrovascular abnormalities were primarily related to endothelium-independent responses.
