[Clinical trial of the new volatile anaesthetic agent isoflurane]
Abstract:
In the article the author presents the main properties of isoflurane. The clinical testing was carried out in thirty maxillofacial patients undergoing surgery. A description of anaesthetic procedures is given. During this work special concern was paid to changes of arterial blood pressure and pulse rate under influence of isoflurane action, as well as to the recovery from it. A dependent decrease of arterial blood pressure has been observed. The pulse rate remained stable. During recovery from anaesthesia only a few adverse effects were registered. Isoflurane was estimated as safe and useful volatile anaesthetic agent.
