Summary

Ozone injections around rat sciatic nerves at concentrations up to 80 μg/ml did not cause significant structural or functional damage. This study suggests peripheral nerve ozone injections are safe.

Main Results:

No significant differences in SFI, nerve conduction velocity, latency, or amplitude were observed across groups.
No pathological abnormalities were found in the sciatic nerves post-injection.
No serious behavioral abnormalities were noted in any animal group.

Conclusions:

Ozone injections at concentrations of 10-80 μg/ml around the rat sciatic nerve do not induce significant damage.
The findings support the safety of using ozone injections in the vicinity of peripheral nerves.
