Insights
A 70-year-old male presented with cardiac infiltration as the initial symptom of B-cell lymphoma. Chemotherapy led to complete regression of the cardiac tumor.
Area of Science:
- Cardiology
- Oncology
- Hematology
Background:
- B-cell lymphoma is a malignancy of lymphocytes.
- Cardiac involvement in lymphoma is rare.
- Early detection and treatment are crucial for patient outcomes.
Observation:
- A 70-year-old male's initial clinical presentation of B-cell lymphoma was cardiac infiltration.
- The lymphoma infiltrated the heart, presenting as the first sign of the disease.
Findings:
- The patient received a full course of chemotherapy.
- Complete tumor regression was achieved following treatment.
Implications:
- This case highlights the importance of considering lymphoma in cardiac masses.
- Successful chemotherapy can lead to complete remission of cardiac lymphoma.
- Further research into cardiac manifestations of lymphoma is warranted.
Abstract:
We present a case of a 70 year-old male with B-cell lymphoma of which the first clinical presentation was cardiac infiltration. The patient underwent full chemotherapy with complete tumour regression. Kardiol Pol 2011; 69, 10: 1063-1065.
