Abstract:
Several studies have been published on "in vitro" and "in vivo" evaluations on pulpal and dentin effects of new dentinal bonding agents. The present study analyses the current status of biocompatibility of these materials. It has been suggested that a good biocompatibility it is only possible if no bacteria penetration and microleakage are present along dentinal walls and around restoration cavity. Finally it is not well defined the importance of smear layer removal from cut dentin surface.
