    • To examine how demographic characteristics relate to the choice of data submission method (Internet vs. paper) for reporting physical activity.
    • To identify factors associated with adherence to study protocols based on submission method.

    Main Methods:

    • Observational study involving 918 adult women over 2 years, collecting 44,963 weekly reports.
    • Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the odds of online submission and adherence.
    • Independent variables included age, race, education, income, employment, and internet skills.

    Main Results:

    • White women, those with higher incomes, and good internet skills were more likely to submit data online.
    • White, older women with good internet skills showed higher adherence online.
    • Older women were more adherent overall, while employed women were less likely to participate online.

    Conclusions:

    • Demographic factors significantly influence the choice and adherence to internet-based data submission for physical activity.
    • Offering multiple submission options (Internet and paper) can mitigate bias and enhance the generalizability of findings in internet-based research.
