Bothrops lanceolatus bites: guidelines for severity assessment and emergent management

Martinique experiences 20-30 annual snakebites from the endemic Fer-de-Lance (Bothrops lanceolatus). Early administration of specific antivenom effectively prevents severe thrombosis and coagulopathy, contributing to zero recent fatalities.
