Dermal uptake study with 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate led to active sensitization

Dermal exposure to 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (4,4'-MDI) induced eczematous dermatitis and active sensitization. Patch testing revealed sensitization to 4,4'-MDI and its metabolite, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane (4,4'-MDA).
