Objective:
To investigate the methods and efficacy of neuroendoscopic operation in the treatment of tethered spinal cord syndrome (TSCS).
Methods:
A total of 21 cases were recruited. There were 13 males and 8 females with an average age of 12.5 years old. TSCS was diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). They were operated under neuroendoscope.
Results:
No complication was found during a follow-up period of 0.5 - 3 years. The symptoms improved in 18 cases. Neither obvious improvement nor aggravation was found in 3 cases. The total effective rate was 85.71%.
Conclusion:
Neuroendoscopic treatment of TSCS is both safe and effective.
