    Summary

    A rare case of Ewing sarcoma presented unusually in a young female with prolonged respiratory symptoms and chest wall erosion. This report highlights the diagnostic challenges of this aggressive bone cancer in the thoracic region.

    Background:

    • Ewing sarcoma is a rare bone and soft tissue cancer typically affecting children and young adults.
    • Primary thoracic Ewing sarcoma is exceptionally uncommon, posing diagnostic challenges.

    Observation:

    • A 20-year-old female presented with a four-month history of fever, left-sided chest pain, and progressive dyspnea.
    • Radiological imaging revealed a significant mass lesion with extensive pleural effusion and adjacent rib erosion.

    Findings:

    • Histopathological examination demonstrated neoplastic cells characterized by scanty cytoplasm, hyperchromatic nuclei, and rosette formation.
    • These features were highly suggestive of Ewing sarcoma, an uncommon diagnosis in this location and presentation.
