Abstract:
Changes to nurse education and the shortage of nurses and midwives in the NHS are likely to affect recruitment to nursing and midwifery professions in Jersey. The Health and Social Services Department in Jersey will face a significant challenge in recruiting experienced nurses and midwives in the future. In an attempt to address the problem, an innovative approach has been developed to encourage school leavers to consider a career in nursing or midwifery. The aim is to increase students' understanding of the diverse roles that exist in this field. Students are offered the opportunity to meet and interact with practitioners from a variety of nursing and midwifery roles.
