Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is linked to impaired brain inhibition, specifically in gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor systems. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) revealed abnormalities in these neurotransmitter pathways in OCD patients.
