  • The Impella LP 2.5 left ventricular assist device (Abiomed) provided safe and effective hemodynamic support during balloon aortic valvuloplasty (BAV).
  • The procedure was completed successfully without any complications.

Implications:

  • Impella support is a viable option for high-risk patients undergoing BAV.
  • Consideration of Impella may be beneficial for patients with contraindications to other devices like TandemHeart.
