Abstract:
In the title coordination polymer, [Cd(C(10)H(8)O(4))(C(12)H(10)N(2))](n), two centrosymmetrically related Cd(II) atoms are bridged by two 1,3-phenyl-enediacetate ligands forming a chain along the [100] direction. The distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination about each metal atom is completed by the N atoms of bridging 1,2-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)ethene ligands, which link these one-dimensional chains into a two-dimensional net extending along the (101) plane.
