Platelet concentrate transport in pneumatic tube systems--does it work?

Pneumatic tube systems (PTS) transport of blood samples does not affect platelet function, unlike storage or irradiation. Multiple transports may slightly impair platelet aggregation, suggesting fresh platelet concentrates (PCs) are preferable.
