Abstract:
Nursing preceptors are important resources for nursing education programs. Preceptors provide guidance to help nursing students make the transition to novice nurse, which can reduce frustration and increase nurse retention. Traditionally, student nurse preceptors are not financially reimbursed for their dedication, time, or expertise. The purpose of this article was to discuss how a preceptor recognition program was developed using the Logic Model. Evaluation of the program and ways for enhancement will be shared.
