Abstract:
Cardiovascular (CV) diseases and cerebrovascular diseases remain major causes of mortality and morbidity in the United States. Intensive efforts over the past 45 years to develop important pharmacologic treatments have reduced CV risk dramatically. Described in this article are over 150 drugs being developed to prevent and treat CV disease.
