A revised retrograde dynamic locked nailing technique effectively corrects valgus knee deformity. This method offers a biomechanically sound alternative with minimal complications and high patient satisfaction.

An Intramedullary Locking Nail for Standardized Fixation of Femur Osteotomies to Analyze Normal and Defective Bone Healing in Mice

  • Follow-up of 35 knees (21 patients) averaged 2.6 years.
  • All osteotomy sites healed within an average of 3.4 months.
  • Postoperative tibiofemoral angle averaged 7.1° valgus, with satisfactory outcomes reported for all knees.

Conclusions:

  • Revised retrograde dynamic locked nailing is a feasible alternative for valgus knee deformity correction.
  • This technique offers biomechanical advantages, a low complication rate, and high success rates.
