Endovascular popliteal thrombectomy using the self-expanding, retrievable Solitaire recanalization device

The Solitaire FR Recanalization Device successfully treated acute below-the-knee arterial occlusion in a patient with limb ischemia when other methods failed. This endovascular approach offers a new option for acute limb ischemia.

- Immediate recanalization of the tibioperoneal trunk was achieved.
- Clinical signs of ischemia resolved, with no reocclusion at 6-month follow-up.
Implications:
- The Solitaire FR Recanalization Device demonstrates potential for treating acute below-the-knee arterial thrombotic occlusions.
- This device may serve as an alternative endovascular option for APLI when suction thrombectomy fails.
- Successful application could potentially avoid more invasive surgical interventions in selected cases.
