Summary

Robotically-assisted laparoscopic radical parametrectomy and vaginectomy are feasible surgical options for gynecologic cancers. These minimally invasive techniques offer potential benefits for patients requiring complex oncologic procedures.

Background:

  • Radical parametrectomy is a complex surgery for occult cervical cancer post-hysterectomy.
  • Radical vaginectomy is rarely performed due to technical challenges in achieving adequate margins without a uterus.

Observation:

  • Two cases are presented: a 41-year-old with Stage IB1 cervical cancer and a 55-year-old with vaginal cancer.
  • Both patients underwent robotically-assisted laparoscopic procedures, with distinct operating times and blood loss.
  • Neither patient experienced prolonged hospitalization or complications.

Findings:

  • Robotically-assisted laparoscopic radical parametrectomy took 186 minutes with 250 ml blood loss.
  • Robotically-assisted laparoscopic radical vaginectomy took 154 minutes with 150 ml blood loss.
