Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Gynecologic Oncology
  • Hematologic Oncology

Background:

  • Ovarian masses can present with significant size.
  • Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
  • Accurate diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment planning.

Observation:

  • A 46-year-old female presented with a large right ovarian mass, measuring 21.8 cm.
  • Surgical exploration via laparotomy was performed.

Findings:

  • The ovarian mass was histopathologically confirmed as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
  • This represents a rare presentation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Implications:

  • Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are crucial for managing ovarian lymphoma.
