Summary
Boyd amputation for diabetic foot ulcers and peripheral arterial disease has a high revision rate, but can preserve limb length in select patients. This study evaluated its effectiveness in 14 adults.

- Seven patients (50%) required revision to a more proximal amputation level.

- Boyd amputation has a high failure rate requiring further revisions.
- Despite this, Boyd amputation remains a viable option for limb length preservation in carefully selected patients.
