Summary

Endolymphatic sac papillary tumors (ELST) are rare, aggressive growths. Subtotal resection followed by radiotherapy offers a promising approach for local control and favorable outcomes in patients.

  • Endolymphatic sac papillary tumor (ELST) is an exceptionally rare and aggressive neoplasm.
  • ELST is associated with significant morbidity, including hearing loss and temporal bone destruction.

Observation:

  • A case report details a 25-year-old woman diagnosed with ELST.
  • The patient underwent subtotal tumor resection via craniotomy, with pathological confirmation.
  • Postoperative radiotherapy (50.4 Gy/28 fractions) was administered.

Findings:

  • The patient remains alive one year post-treatment with no local recurrence.
  • No adverse effects from radiotherapy were observed.
  • Complete tumor resection is often unachievable.
