Background:

Darier's disease (keratosis follicularis) is a rare autosomal dominant genodermatosis.
A potential association between Darier's disease and neuropsychiatric abnormalities is suggested by clinical experience.
Most reported cases linking Darier's disease and neuropsychiatric conditions involve Caucasian populations.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe neuropsychiatric associations of Darier's disease in an Asian population.
To report on two Asian patients with Darier's disease and schizophrenia.

Main Methods:

Case report of two patients.
Review of clinical presentation and literature.

Main Results:

Two Asian patients presented with both Darier's disease and schizophrenia.
This adds to the limited literature on Darier's disease neuropsychiatric associations in Asian populations.

Conclusions:

The association between Darier's disease and neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, may occur in Asian populations.
Further epidemiological studies are needed to confirm these associations across diverse ethnicities.
