Background:

  • The MiCardia DYANA annuloplasty system offers a novel approach with dynamic, radiofrequency-induced shape modification.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To report the first human experience with the MiCardia DYANA annuloplasty system for mitral valve repair.
  • To evaluate the safety and efficacy of this dynamic annuloplasty device in patients with mitral regurgitation.

Main Methods:

  • A multicenter study involving 35 patients (mean age 67 ± 8 years) with various types of MR.
  • Mitral valve repair was performed using the MiCardia DYANA system.
