  • Specific HLA-DR alleles, notably DR2, are associated with increased susceptibility and adverse outcomes in tuberculosis.
  • Inheritance of certain HLA haplotypes may contribute to familial susceptibility to tuberculosis.
  • HLA-DR2 positivity in TB patients correlated with higher IgG antibody levels to PPD and increased risk of anergy.
