[Clinical experience with the use of improved-design monolithic intraocular lens]

A monolithic intraocular lens (IOL) design is described, made of with a total diameter of 8.5-9.0 mm. This design is intended for intracapsular fixation after extracapsular cataract extraction. Sixty operations with implantation of the improved monolithic IOL design were carried out in patients with age-associated cataracts. No complications were recorded. After surgery vision acuity aided by spectacle correction has been 0.5-1.0 diopters in 93.3 percent of patients.
