Abstract:
The prompt and appropriate communications between clinical divisions and clinical laboratories are essential particularly to the diagnosis and treatment of hematological disorders. In this symposium, four speakers presented and discussed the issues as follows: importance of molecular analyses on clinical hematology; practical aspects and utility of specialized works by a laboratory hematologist; an application of the integrated laboratory hematology system for better contribution to clinics; and finally the reconstruction of the partnership between clinical divisions and laboratories just after the terrible earthquake which took place in the northeast Japan area in March, 2011. In particular, the recovery process of the hospital after the unfortunate earthquake let us realize the mutual cooperation of the laboratories and the clinics exactly.
