Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and validate a new manual method for assessing elbow valgus laxity.
  • To evaluate the reliability of the new manual method.
  • To correlate the manual method's findings with ultrasonographic assessments.

  • Elbow valgus laxity defined as the difference in shoulder external rotation angles with the elbow in flexion and extension.
  • Manual method reliability assessed using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) with three examiners on five healthy volunteers.
  • Correlation with ultrasonography in 19 high-school baseball players, measuring medial joint space width and comparing throwing vs. contralateral sides.
