Nerve injuries sustained during warfare: part I--Epidemiology

This study analyzed 261 peripheral nerve injuries in 100 service members from Iraq and Afghanistan. Most injuries involved conduction block/neurapraxia, axonotmesis, or neurotmesis, frequently caused by explosions and associated with open wounds.
