Probable rifaximin-induced neutropenia

Rifaximin treatment in a patient with ulcerative colitis was associated with the development of neutropenia, a significant drop in white blood cells. Neutrophil counts recovered after discontinuing the medication, suggesting a potential adverse effect of rifaximin.
