  • Outcome measures included gait speed, hip abductor strength, one-legged stance, quality of life, and patient-reported pain and function.
  • Main Results:

    • Both groups showed significant improvements in all measured outcomes over 12 weeks.
    • Higher patient satisfaction reported in the intensified exercise group (100%) compared to the control group (85%).
    • 17.4% of the intensified exercise group experienced difficulties with home-based exercises; hip abduction strength remained weaker in the operated leg post-intervention.

    Conclusions:

    • Early-initiated intensified exercises are generally well-tolerated by THR patients, with high satisfaction and no additional pain.
    • Supervision may be necessary for some patients to effectively perform intensified home-based rehabilitation exercises after THR.
