Background:

  • Myofibroma (MF) is a benign mesenchymal tumor typically found in the head and neck, often in infants and children.
  • Oral cavity presentation is infrequent, necessitating differentiation from other oral neoplasms.

Observation:

  • A 16-year-old male presented with a significant mass on the gingival mucosa.
  • Histological examination revealed a biphasic pattern characteristic of myofibroma.

Findings:

  • Immunohistochemistry confirmed MF with positive vimentin and alpha-smooth muscle actin, and negative keratin, S-100, and EMA.
  • The tumor exhibited elongated spindle cells peripherally and polygonal cells centrally.
