KRAS and BRAF mutations in sinonasal cancer

KRAS and BRAF mutations are rare in sinonasal cancers, with KRAS mutations found in 12% of intestinal-type sinonasal adenocarcinoma (ITAC). This suggests these mutations have a limited role in sinonasal cancer development and are not useful for predicting anti-EGFR therapy response.

- KRAS mutations were found in 7/58 (12%) of ITAC cases, specifically in well-differentiated, less aggressive subtypes.
- No BRAF mutations were observed in ITAC.

- KRAS and BRAF mutations play a limited role in sinonasal cancer development.
- Mutation analysis for KRAS and BRAF is not a useful screening test for anti-EGFR therapy sensitivity in sinonasal cancer.
