Main Results:

  • The ligasure group demonstrated a significantly shorter operating time (100.6 min vs. 115.4 min, P=0.005).
  • Laparoscopic splenectomy with ligasure resulted in less intraoperative bleeding (131.7 mL vs. 150.9 mL, P=0.025).
  • No transfusions or conversions to open surgery were required in either group.

Conclusions:

  • Both ligasure and clip ligation are viable for vascular control in LS.
  • Ligasure provides simpler and easier hemostasis with minimal dissection, making it superior to clip ligation for LS.
  • The findings support ligasure as a preferred method for vascular control in laparoscopic splenectomy.
