Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) with epirubicin and Lipiodol led to a significant decrease in serum AFP and liver metastasis size after two sessions.
Despite initial TACE success, disease re-progression and new lung metastases developed, leading to hepatic failure.

Findings:

AFP-producing colorectal cancer with liver metastases demonstrated a limited response to systemic chemotherapy.
