Abstract:
During the period between 1967 and 1987 at the Paediatric Surgical Clinic in Brno 87 multiple injuries with a dominant affection of the chest were treated. Two patients from the group died. The mortality increases considerably in groups with combined injuries of the chest and other parts of the body. The authors give indications for surgical treatment of chest injuries and their own experience with the treatment of associated injuries of the chest in children.
