    Area of Science:

    • Nephrology
    • Immunology

    Background:

    • Goodpasture's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder.
    • It affects the kidneys and lungs.

    Observation:

    • Two male patients, aged 68 and 58, presented with Goodpasture's syndrome.
    • One patient refused glucocorticoid treatment.

    Findings:

    • The disease can manifest as a chronic relapsing condition.
    • Refusal of glucocorticoids led to rapid kidney function decline and chronic renal failure.

    Implications:

    • Early glucocorticoid treatment is crucial for managing Goodpasture's syndrome.
    • Prompt intervention can prevent irreversible renal damage.
