The EyeCare Group: a volunteer support group for cataract patients

Although cataract surgery is a common procedure, the first-time patient often feels intense anxiety before the operation. The EyeCare Group is made up of former cataract patients who provide support to patients. In starting a support group, ask the physicians for recommendations for volunteers, provide orientation, enable volunteers to share joys and concerns with other volunteers, and provide continuing education and support for the volunteers.
