Summary

Background:

  • Limited data exist on lenalidomide maintenance therapy's efficacy in prolonging disease progression time post-autologous stem-cell transplantation for multiple myeloma.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of lenalidomide maintenance therapy in extending the time to disease progression after autologous hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation in multiple myeloma patients.
  • To assess the overall survival and safety profile of lenalidomide maintenance therapy in this patient population.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized controlled trial involving 460 patients under 71 years old with multiple myeloma, who achieved stable disease or better 100 days post-stem-cell transplantation.
