- Persistent contamination of seafood with pathogenic V. parahaemolyticus, including the O3:K6 serotype, suggests that control measures after the distribution stage may be crucial.
- Future prevention efforts for V. parahaemolyticus infections should consider interventions beyond the wholesale market level.
