Abstract:
In the title complex, [Pt(NCS)(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pt(II) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar environment by the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two mutually cis S atoms from two linear thio-cyanate anions. The dpa ligand is not planar, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 30.8 (4)°. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are stacked in columns along the a axis and are connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming supra-molecular chains along the b axis.
